2’s Program Highlights:
Expert, caring teachers provide our youngest children with the strong sense of security needed for a gentle separation from their primary caregivers. Our small group 2’s program (3 teachers for 8 children) is rich in hands-on sensory experiences – the building blocks for cognitive development. The UMPS’ first school experience nurtures the toddlers’ curiosity, social play, and natural love of learning.
3’s Program Highlights:
We develop our students’ confidence, and respect for themselves, their peers, and their community while strengthening and building cognitive skills. Our welcoming play- based curriculum incorporates student interests. This proven approach inspires children to learn as they explore science, math, art, and literacy. The children participate in monthly music and yoga classes to balance out their preschool experience.
We Ignite Curiosity and Foster an Eagerness to Learn.
Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), our STEAM based curriculum exceeds the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards. The 2’s program fosters social skills in a sensory- rich environment. The 3’s program focuses on self-help, and social/emotional confidence, which are critical foundations for learning. Our Pre-K classes promote Kindergarten readiness with an emphasis on literacy, science, math, and critical thinking skills.
"Both of my sons attended Methodist for preschool and had a wonderful time! They made their first best friends and developed significantly in so many ways… emotionally, socially, intellectually. They loved their experience and looked forward to school everyday. I can’t say enough great things about this school… I wish I could send my boys there for several more years!!!"

Pre-K Program Highlights:
Our STEAM based curriculum prepares students for kindergarten and beyond by fostering creative and critical thinking. By incorporating science, technology, engineering, art, and math into a hands-on project approach to learning, we strengthen our students’ academic foundation while deepening their understanding of the world around them. Creative art experiences emphasize process over product providing an opportunity for self-expression. Music, yoga, and Spanish enrichment classes nurture the whole child.
Early Bird Special:
We have added an early drop off option for our preschoolers (3-5 years old) beginning at 8:30 for parents needing extra time to accommodate work and siblings’ school schedules
Lunch Bunch Program:
Our Lunch Bunch Program is offered 5 days a week from 12:00 pm until 1:55 pm for our 3’s and 4’s. The children are welcomed into the Lunch Bunch classroom where they enjoy an afternoon of free play with their friends and our staff. After lunch and lively conversation with friends it is off to the playground until pick up time.
Older children can begin in September. Our three year-olds generally are ready to join in October with readiness confirmation from their teachers. Starting in December, the 2’s can stay for their own Lunch Bunch one day a week on either Thursday or Friday from 11:45 am to 1:00 pm. Sign up for Lunch Bunch is flexible and ongoing throughout the school year.
